Demolition crews from Controlled-Demolition, Inc. (CDI) and R.E. Pierson Construction Co. imploded the former Sands Casino Hotel's 9-story parking garage on Kentucky Avenue. It took less than 10 seconds for the garage to be reduced to rubble.

On October 18, Pinnacle Entertainment imploded the legendary Sands Casino Hotel in Atlantic City following a dramatic fireworks display designed by Fireworks By Grucci.. It was the first casino implosion in Atlantic City history and New Jersey's largest rooftop fireworks display ever.

In the pouring rain, the 50 ft. long, 5th story walkbridge, that carried millions of visitors from the former Sands Casino parking garage over to the casino floor, is cut away from between the buildings by R.E. Pierson demolition crews.
